Liberal bicycle commuter, political junkie, policy junkie, free thinker, I've got too many titles. All in all I'll leave it with a quote from the late Senator Paul Wellstone of Minn. "Politics is not about big money and power games, it's about the improvment of peoples lives."

Truly disgusting I must say

Here is a little tid bit that really makes you shake your head. My neighbors two houses down have two kids, one is around 11 or 12 the other is a little girl about I'd say...7. My wife and I live 2 1/2 blocks from the elementary school this girl goes to. Every morning this girl's mom backs out the SUV and takes this girl to school. A straight shot down our street no turns or anything, I can see the school from my porch. She also picks her up in the afternoon. Am I just being over critical or is this not absolutely stupid?

Here is a side bar to the story, I had my bike on the stand on my porch just doing a little maintenance and this same girl walks by and asks me what I was doing. I told her I was working on my bike. She asks why, and I told her because it's broke and my bike is my car. Again, she asks why? I proceed to tell her because bikes are better than cars. At that point she says "No their not you have to pedal a bike." Jesus christ, if that was not a disgusting exchange. I guess the whole "car culture" thing sets in early, ingrained into the young mind. What a sad state of affairs.

I'm leaving to go throw up.
