Liberal bicycle commuter, political junkie, policy junkie, free thinker, I've got too many titles. All in all I'll leave it with a quote from the late Senator Paul Wellstone of Minn. "Politics is not about big money and power games, it's about the improvment of peoples lives."

Santorum better start burning the midnight oil

It sounds as though Rick Santorum is not doing very well in the most recent poll. Down by 14 points to your Democratic challenger, that's a heck of a gap Rick. Now it goes without saying that there are probably many reasons Ricky is stumbling in the polls. Maybe one reason would be his comments on homosexuality and privacy rights. See Rick puts homosexuals in the same group as pedophiles, zoophilia (hey there little billy goat you sure do have a pretty mouth), and folks who enjoy incest. What's more, Santorum feels that it is the state's right to knock down the door of a gay couple and arrest them for making sweeet love. Santorum made these comments back in 2003 so lets be realistic, his poll numbers probably are not a reflection of his "I'm a little bigot" comments. Although I'm sure that there are some that still remember 2003 and may do a bit of voter revenge.

I'm really taken aback by the hatred for certain segments of society. You know what, if your reading this and totally disagree with the homosexual lifestyle, that's fine. I'm not here to tell you that you are wrong, it's your belief. What I do have a problem with is when people start hating others because they are different (had a little problem with that a few decades ago... result, lots of people were turned into charcoal.) Every time I think about gay bashing and the hatred of homosexuals I always think of the two gals that live up the street who have to be the nicest couple around. They are lesbians, are they bad people, are they rotten to the core? It just kills me, these ladies are so nice but yet people look at one thing about them and hate them for it.

So in the end it looks like Rick Santorum is going to be struggling a bit. Although there is lots of time between now and November my bet is on the Democrat (not that that would be light years better, both parties suck.)
